Arizona Sunset Dental Assisting Program

Thank you for your interest in our program. We appreciate your consideration. Dental assisting is one of the top careers in healthcare that does not require a college degree. The Dental Assisting Curriculum is an instructional program providing a fifteen week Dental Assisting Course consisting of 90 hours of lectures and labs. An additional 65 hour internship/externship is required with a practicing dentist. The program utilizes a hand-on educational approach where students "learn by doing" in a true dental setting. The course includes lectures on fundamentals of general dentistry and the basic skills, knowledge and technical proficiency necessary to assist the dentist in the various operative procedures performed in a dental clinic. Completion of the program will allow the student to have adequate training to qualify for an entry level position in a dental office. We realize that there are other Dental Assisting programs in the area with some being taught in a classroom setting only, so students do not always get the real life experience required to be a Dental Assistant. Our program is taught in a dental office by dental professionals who treat patients on a daily basis by using state-of-the-art equipment. Our program teaches modern dental assisting from the most current and up to date materials. We are designed to give students as much hands-on training as possible in a dental setting.

We feel that our school will offer a viable option for applicants who want to be in the work field soon after graduating from high school. It will also offer applicants a choice if they want to make a career change without the time commitment and investment required by other programs.

Many programs cost well over $12,000 and last between 9 to 24 months and teach on subjects that are not relevant to a career in dental assisting. This tends to prolong your educational time as well as increase your educational cost. One key aspect to this field is that time is valuable and we do not wish to waste it. Through this program, students will be taught the necessary materials needed to excel and prosper in their Dental Assisting careers. You will be taught by staff that are experienced and knowledgeable about dentistry and are willing to answer any questions and to help our student succeed.

Rewarding Career Opportunity

Dental Assisting Was No. 1 on the list of "The Best Jobs for Young People". (Forbes woman 3/16/2012) They state that dental assisting is expected to grow 35.7% and boast 16,100 positions each year. As you can see the demand for Dental Assistants is here and growing. The older population is keeping their teeth longer and new technologies will require the use of more dental assistants in the office. Dental Assisting can be a satisfying life-long career on it can serve as a stepping stone for advancement to more highly skilled and better paying jobs within the dental field.
